Hardwire Hob and Oven

Hi,
i have a 45 amp single outlet and want to hardwire 2 appliances to it. I bought a dual connection plate to replace the existing single plate, and have the space to have 2 sets of cables plugged to the same outlet
i made sure both the hob and oven are 13 anos and the hob even comes with a regular 13amp plug, but clearly states it can be hardwired (

Can I connect both appliances to the same outlet, using a 6mm cable?

You can hardwire it to a 13A fused spur connected to the existing plate, but this won't be much different from connecting a new socket to the plate (except being more reliable than a socket and a plug).the oven is also a 13 amp

firstly you need to check the oven power rating.Hardes said:I think the oven is 6kw but not sureCan I connect both appliances to the same outlet, using a 6mm cable?
if it's 6kw, it'll be fine
where is the 6mm cable you mention? it's quite difficult to correctly terminate 6mm T&E into ovens and hobs1 -
The oven can't be 13A and 6kW. 13A x 230V = 3kW (near enough). I'm amazed that the official Hoover web site https://www.hoover.co.uk/en_GB/ovens/-/catalog/33703183/hoc3t3058bi#overview gives no information at all about the wattage of the appliance. If the hob came with a plug, then use that cable. Ditto the oven. You could even put a 13A socket or two in place to plug one or both in. But don't assume a double 13A socket will handle 26A unless the socket manufacturer specifically says so.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1
