Cheap car insurance needed!

Look at the comparison engines.
If they're all coming out high, then there's clearly a reason.
What sort of figures are you looking at?
What age / first-half postcode / car / points / incident history...?1 -
Any accidents in the last year? Any change of address, car, job? It's not much help to you this year, but next time start shopping around earlier (a month before renewal). Prices rise as you get nearer the start date, and you've just nine days away.1

Thank you so much for your replies. I'm in BL2, 5 years no claims and no incidents. I've been driving 33 years xx my car is a Peugeot 307 10 reg and I'm retited0

Really shouldn't be too expensive, then.
If there is a single factor pushing it up, then the precise location may be relevant - BL2 is the edge of Bolton centre, which may well get insurers twitching, but it also includes suburbia and semi-rural areas.
So what sort of prices are you getting?1 -
and I'm retited
What was wrong with the old ones?

I hope this doesn't sound insensitive, but when you say you're retired .... insurance can start to get expensive once you're over 70. I know I was surprised at how much my father-in-law pays - been driving all his life with not one claim or accident to his name, he's paying nearly 5 times what I pay. Apart from that, I can't see any reason why your premiums should rise dramatically compared to last year, assuming no changes in circumstances. I assume you've tried the usual price comparison sites? Worth also looking at Direct Line, Aviva and Zurich who aren't on the comparison sites. And Saga can be good for over-50's.

Hiya everyone I truly appreciate your help xx I retired at 57. I'm 58 the middle of this month, the prices I'm getting are £471 from Mark's and around the £400 mark. You're all so nice and helpful responding to my plea!! I dont often come on here but I'm glad I did xx1

"Cheap car insurance needed!" Until you have a claim when you realise "Good car insurance needed!"1

£400 doesn't sound ridiculous to me. It's substantially below the national average, which is around £500.sunshineD said:Hiya everyone I truly appreciate your help xx I retired at 57.
