Contents insurance after seperation

My wife and I are separated awaiting our divorce. I have left the marital home, I am temporarily living with friends. I have still got the majority of my clothes in the marital home, my question is, if my wife has renewed the house contents insurance and not put my name on the new policy and there is a fire at our marital home, can I make a claim off the insurance for any damaged clothing, or will my wife have to make any claim on my behalf as I’m not named on the policy? The reason I ask is because I’ve been informed by our insurers that I can renew our policy because I no longer live there.
