Car insurance with GPS tracker

Greetings all,
I make an insurance with website searching tools for cheaper one. I saw there if I put an tracker GPS my insurance will go down well with 130£ per year.
Some websites asking which company have you gps tracker and others website didn t ask or specify any list of GPS.
I ticked the box that asked '' car have GPS tracker'' but no mentions if I have to buy specific one or that must be approved by Insurer and installed in service.
So I bought on amazon tracker gps with sim card with an cost of 20£. and installed myself in car.
My question is since I paid full year already insurance that will be start in 2weeks for my car and there on website, and contract doesn t specify what kind of GPS I have to buy or if it s approved. They can reject my policy even nowhere said I can t buy my own GPS and installed?

What exactly does it say in your policy documents about having a tracker fitted? If your car is of high value insurers will usually require a tracker that matches a Thatcham standard. All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.1

The policy will normally state a minimum status for the tracker - such as Thatcham category approval or equivalent. Those normally require an "approved" fitter to install a particular model, such as the (now vodafone) cobratrak device. Some categories require things such as ignition isolation (basically, when the police give the okay, the company can disable the engine). I would check carefully the policy documents before agreeing.

Just have on Private Car Proposal Form,
1. Does the vehicle have an immobiliser, alarm, or any form of security?
Nothing else to specify0 -
This one example, then in contract doesn t say if it s Thatcham, approved etc.0 -
It s cheap cap value 1k around.I just want to know if they will call me later saying need approved GPS but on papers nothing saying that, it s not my fault. It s black in white ink and I Don t care. Insurers just looking for reasons to grab money.

You've selected Third Party Fire & Theft cover. Are you aware that Fully Comprehensive can be more cost effective in many cases?0

Don't rely on the comparison site questions alone. When it sends you to the insurer's site, you sometimes find questions with no answer or wrong answers. As above, trackers tend to be either cat 5 or cat 6 to be recognised by the insurer. The insurers will also sometimes ask for the installation certificate as well. check the T+C carefully, as above, comparison websites do not specify what constitutes a tracker. You do not want to be caught out if you need to claim in future."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
