Negative feedback revision

Hello - is it still possible to get feedback revision from Ebay itself on the phone / chat ? ( and not from the buyer ) - cancelled and refunded a sale as I was about to send it when realized that information in the listing wasn't correct - but stupidly didnt contact buyer directly and left it to Ebays, probably generic sounding reasons for cancellation - leaving buyer to vent ,re leaving bad feedback about being disappointed and trust destroyed
Thanks

You could try phoning ebay but I can't see any reason why that would fall into their removal policy. What option did you use to cancel, as if you choose the correct one (item not available or whatever the wording is) then unfortunately you will have a defect as well.

Hindsight is great, but you should have contacted the buyer first and explained you made an error in the listing and do they still want the item, or should you cancel. You may still have got negative feedback for the poorly written listing but it would have made the buyer feel better and they may have even still wanted the item if the error wasn't too great.
  • Unfortunately unless the buyer called you names or swore, you're unlikely to be able to get this removed as it doesn't fall under any of their removal policies. You can try, but don't be surprised if the answer is no. The buyer had a bad experience, and that's what negative feedback is for. Even if you'd contacted the buyer personally and offered them the choice, you could still have ended up stuck with bad feedback, because it was your mistake.
I've had orders cancelled on me without warning on a couple of occasions and did not receive any notification beyond the refund and "unfortunately the seller has had to cancel your order". I left bad feedback, too.
You can still leave a reply to their feedback if you'd like to explain what happened. That way people who look at your feedback will be able to see more details about what happened.
