Utility point

I've asked utility point to add my partners name to the gas and electric bill. It goes out of her bank account monthly anyway but they say she can't be added as a joint account holder only as a second person who can speak on my behalf. We both live together and have been jointly responsible for the bills for 20 years why can't we be joint account holders?

I don't know, but I don't think you can force them to accept it if they don't want to.1

Certainly no Consumer law says they have to .Vendors don't have to do everything for everybody .

As far as the company goes only ONE of you has been responsible. That is the person named on the account.rockingrobbo said:I've asked utility point to add my partners name to the gas and electric bill.
