Was PAYE now Self employed

I was employed PAYE up until 17 July 2020, i was made redundant and a period of being Furloughed. I have found it difficult to get back into full time employment so have been doing freelance, either going through an umbrella company or sole trader with my UTR. My question is am i entitled to any assistance from the Government ?. since the 17th of July i have had 4 short term contracts, the longest being 8 weeks. I have not claimed benefits as by the time my application gets processed i would be on another contract.
Any assistance with this would be great.

Universal Credit, you submit a monthly earnings journal and it adjusts during the low earnings periods, so in a period where you were in full time employment you would likely get nothing, but in the gaps in between you should get something. In theory you could also claim nsJSA in the gaps between employment if you have enough NI contributions.
