I was going to use RMSD 1pm if thats still a good one, its only a small parcel thats need signing etc. so seems to be the best choice.    Does anyone on the thread know if I can goto the post office and use books of 1st class stamps I already have from before the last price rise or they would require me to use a debit card for a new purchase?

I do that already with the stamps I’m paid in for the surveys. You can use first class stamps to send second class if you work the costs out, as well.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

You can use as few or as many stamps as you wish - if you have underpaid they will simply charge you the difference.
