IHT Time Limitations for additional inheritance

A general question regarding our mother estate. Our mother passed away in 2016 and her house/estate was sold and all IHT was paid at the end of 2016. We have just been informed that the estate may be eligible for a refund on her War Windows pension due to the new ruling in the Court of Appeal. Are there any time limitations on the additional amount with regard IHT e.g. will we have to pay additional tax on the refund and if we do are there any time limits to be aware of?

I do not believe there are time limits. My wife inherited from her uncle, and 7 years later it emerged that a bank account had been overlooked and IHT had to be paid by the executors.
