Economy 7 meter reading "Night" in the daytime and vice versa?

Hi, yup, me again, below is a photo of my meter at about 4pm today, the red light says "low" next to it... i assume therefore that the meter is (wrongly) reading night measurements during the day and presumably vice versa..!
The second picture is, I assume, the gizmo (just below the meter) that tells it whether it's night or day?? But surely this shouldn't be something the consumer can change..? I didn't touch it as I have The Fear of all things electric metery! Any sage advice?

That clock should have a seal on the cover, if there is no seal then the odds are someone already tampered with it...Just report to your energy supplier that the clock controlling the day/night cycle has drifted and needs correcting.Odds are they will want to fit a smart meter and not bother resetting the clock...1

Hi,I think you will find a pointer under the 15 sticker indicating actual time.So if picture was taken just before you posted, looks like your timer is about 12 hours out.1

Ok - I am in the process of switching supplier from Scottish Power to Shell Energy, started the switch about a week ago - is it worth telling Scottish Power or should I wait till Shell start the supply and tell them?0

Hi,might be that the clock is stuck at that time, always on low, so keep checking and taking a note of the readings, in case of any dispute.1

What you do depends on if the current timings suit your use pattern. If you are using more on that register, you are on a 2 rate tariff and being billed correctly with reference to high and low then don't do anything as it is costing you less. It is the meter reader's job to spot these things, the fact they don't send meter readers round any more is not your problem.

This one is showing 9:45am.Stand by for much bigger bills when it's fixed, assuming that the registers are being billed correctly.1 -
Luckily I haven't had any bils yet, as I only completed on 19th Feb and haven't moved in yet... seems the previous occupants may have been getting a rather good deal!0

I hope you took the time to get your account set up with SP before you started the switch though?0

I did indeed :-) gave them opening readings and everything1
