Not directly eBay related, but thought people that use this board would have a good idea on this topic.
I'm moving and need to purchase packaging supplies such as boxes and bubble wrap, etc, any recommended suppliers/sites?

I tend to browse EBay and buy from there, I don’t have a particular stockist I favour as many have very dynamic pricing and prices move up and down several times a week.I did buy some supplies locally a year or more ago as I ran out, but the cost was considerably higher than I was used to and I’ve never done that again.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Don't be tempted by the cheapest bubble wrap, especially on Ebay/Amazon. It will be so thin, you might as well wrap stuff in cling film.0

I occasionally post on a local or neighbourhood Facebook site offering free cardboard boxes and packaging as that saves me putting it in the bin or the recycling bin. I usually get enough takers who come and collect it.
Maybe try asking on your local sites if anyone has anything to give away but bear in mind Covid restrictions.
You may get lucky and find someone who has just moved and has lots of packaging to give away.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
Boxes: Metal cages in McDonalds car park
Bubblewrap: Fruit & Veg trays in the supermarket
That's moneysaving 👍👍👍0 -
It depends how much you're moving. There's loads of stuff on Facebook marketplace that you can probably find local to you, a lot will be free as many of us have found it hard to recycle/get rid of packing stuff over the last year, I've got a big shed full!
I buy second hand boxes but get them by the pallet for business use but did use a load of those when we last moved.

If you are moving you really need to use standard removal sized double wall boxes. If you use a motly selection of odd boxes they will be difficult to stack and probably some will not stand the weight of boxes above them.If you look on Freecycle or Freegle you will often find people who have recently moved with boxes they are keen to get rid of.2
