I went from spark to octopus (they put the meter in) back to spark again they blocked octopus but not the change of meter. So has the meter gone dumb for spark? Do the rival companies fight other companies like this?

I think amongst other "factors" the meter has also went dumb.  

Perhaps because someone changed electric company?

So read your meters every month and send in readings, so you do not get a really expensive surprise?
