Boiler maintenance plan problem

I own a flat that I rent to my sister, I have a boiler maintenance plan with Scottish power, who in turn subcontract to city technical.
A few weeks ago the boiler broke down, we phoned and the guy came out to look at it, he said the fan needed replaced and he would need to order the part, we waited 6 days for the part to arrive and he came to fix it. While he was there replacing the fan, he broke a pipe in the boiler. He said he would need to order a part and replace that aswel. We waited another week. They then phoned to say the part was obsolete and the boiler would need replaced.
So they have given us the choice of 3 boilers all with a charge of £2000.
So I’m now looking at a 2k repair bill for their worker breaking the boiler, and my sister has been without hot water and heating for 2 weeks with 2 young kids in the house.
do I have any right to compensation or a replacement as the boiler was broken by them through their dodgy workmanship?

     Formal complaint in writing.
Ive just had the same with homeserve. Broke a part, i paid an excess fee for them to fix it! Them broke another part while fixing the first which i again paid another excess for!
Still not had a reply to complaint other than sorry we haven't got back to you yet. I assume because staff working at home. But their letter did advise I could also use the alternative dispute resolution service if not happy.

Get an independent GSR RGI for a second opinion. It's very common for the nationals to claim obsolescence when parts are in fact readily available. Make, model and age of the boiler, and what part is required?
In future stop wasting money on boiler insurance and self-insure.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Save money each month instead of paying insurance. Use that money you've saved to pay for repairs.
Like i said what i pay each month and  the excess wouldn't save enough to pay for the repairs Ive needed.

ah right, nope, if I saved the same amount of money I pay for the plan it wouldn’t have covered anywhere near the previous call out never mind this one.

But if you had got a proper RGI in instead of these guys then you wouldn't be looking at a £2K bill for a boiler that they damaged and now claim is obsolete.
I repeat, make, model and age of your boiler please?

I can’t work out what it says on the report on the make and model of the boiler. The rioting is terrible.
it looks like hailsberb or something?? Sorry.
The fault says, hole in top of combustion chamber, there’s a small plastic pipe maybe 150mm long has snapped off from somewhere.
The boiler is roughly 15 years old
