Im so annoyed that I have been sent a letter regarding this parking charge. It was my first time ever at an Aldi car park, and I was there around 30mins. Like most store car parks like Tesco and Lidl, I assumed aldi have the same free parking policy. Little did I know, few days later I would receive a parking charge notice. I have seen a few old posts saying ignore it as they are private scammers and We do not owe any type of payment to them. However, there are also posts that state that ParkingEye will drag you to court now as a way to get their money. I also parked there few days later and will most likely get a parking charge notice for that through the letterbox soon!! However, I have the receipt to prove I was shopping for that one so I can appeal that.
I am honestly so disappointed at the ways stores try to make money off their customers! If there is anyone in a similar position who can give me up-to-date advice on what to do. The parking charge notice is for £40, and if not paid within 14 days will be increased to £70.
Due to Covid, I have just recently started a new job and cannot afford to pay off the parking charge at the moment as it was a honest mistake on my behalf
Any help is much appreciated!!!

Get on to the Aldi HO Parking Team (go figure why they need one of those), show them copies of receipts you have, for the visit you don't have a receipt tell them what you bought, also copy any past receipts (or bank/cc statements) for Aldi shopping, whether at this store or others to show that you regularly shop there and hopefully they will cancel. What are the dates of the two visits you quote above? Hold off on contacting them until you tell us the two dates. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Why didn't you just complain to Aldi? They cancel these all the time and it amazes me that people need us to suggest it...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A customer was speaking to the store manager with a P/E invoice in his hand - cancellation agreed immediately.
It really can be that easy.2
