Audi A4 Avant - Online Purchase

I am looking to purchase a car on line, from one of these new companies that do on line only ( I wont name them).
Firstly is that they do not accept Credit card payment, which means that I don't get protection. Secondly, I am thinking of trading in my car with the deal, so they have gave me a valuation, but do these companies stick to it or do they tyre kick the car when they come to collect it? Any advice?

    Well unless you name them no one will be able to advise on that company, as there are so many of them.

    What do they say in their T/C about trade in value?

    Hardly any car dealer will accept full payment via a credit card. Also, any valuation is going to be an estimate until they actually see the condition of the vehicle you're trading in, therefore it will be subject to change, as no doubt their T&Cs will highlight.

    Yet you're willing to buy a car unseen from them, 😲.

    T/C on Part Exchange are well covered & long.

    <<<4.6.5  For the avoidance of doubt we are entitled to amend a Part-Exchange Valuation and reject a Part-Exchange Vehicle which is delivered to us for any reason, including but not limited to circumstances where:
    1. the condition of the Part-Exchange Vehicle has changed since we provided the Part-Exchange Valuation or the condition of the Part-Exchange Vehicle is not as stated in the Description given by you;
    2. there is a discrepancy in the recorded mileage of the Part-Exchange Vehicle or the mileage at the time of delivery is more than 500 miles higher than the mileage declared by You at the time of the Order;
    3. the Part-Exchange Vehicle has been subject to a total loss claim;
    4. any other issue is identified by an HPI check or equivalent vehicle history check on the Part-Exchange Vehicle;
    5. the Part-Exchange Vehicle is not your property to dispose of or you do not have the right to sell it; or
    6. the V5c registration documentation for the Part-Exchange Vehicle is missing, incomplete or is not in your name.

    4.6.6 In the event that we reject a Part-Exchange Vehicle in accordance with Condition 4.6.5 above we are entitled at our option to:

    1. reject the Part-Exchange Vehicle entirely and require payment of the Price by another means; or
    2. provide a new Part-Exchange Valuation in relation to the Part-Exchange Vehicle.

    4.6.7 When delivering a Part-Exchange Vehicle to us you must provide:

    1. all sets of keys to the Part-Exchange Vehicle; and
    2. the V5c registration documentation in your name and any associated documentation (such as service books) for the Part-Exchange Vehicle; without which we will not accept the Part-Exchange Vehicle. >>>
    So I would expect some haggling depending on the age and state of car.

    One idea is to obtain other trade prices for the trade in, including take the car to local garages so they can give you a price for the car actually seen.  If the on-line seller then reduces the price unreasonably, you can just go elsewhere.  (I assume the final price for your car is given when they take it and not a week later after they get it back to the depot?)

    Is the car you are trading one the online seller is likely to want to retail again?  If not, local garage that wants to retail the car might well offer more anyhow.

    Except at the moment in current lockdown car sales are shut so they can not value a car in person.
