Parking not in deed

Well that's exactly what I've had in 5 different properties over the years. It isn't uncommon at all.hippocrates1 said:

There are good reasons for this - sometimes because the spaces aren't one per property, so might not match up if some properties have three and others none, or were allocated in a completely separate process or have changed hands. In other developments it is because there's a perceived security risk - they think a burglar could look at the car park and deduce that flat 3 aren't home as the car is gone (how would he know if flat 3 even owned a car, or if another resident isn't home?) - so the numbers are deliberately mixed up.

But they'd be watching the wrong flat number wouldn't they.hippocrates1 said:

If they see Parking Space 3 is out, they may try to break into Flat 3. Yes, they may well be out too, but it can help as the ones parking in space 3 could live at Flat 20.
Obviously it's for blocks, not for conversions of just a couple of flats.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0

The shared parking areas on my estate are numbered by plot number rather than house number.hippocrates1 said:

You don't have to believe me but I have lived places where the parking space is totally different from the flat number, so for example I had flat number 10 but parking space marked 34 in the car park, whereas flat number 11 had space number 2. It is quite common. In one development they said it was for security reasons. I don't think it's a good reason but it's the one they gave.

This is what my solicitor has said
The property is said to have allocated parking. This is not shown on the title plan. We believe the parking spaces belonging to the property are indicatednumbered 22 on the plan to the 2013 transfer, however they are not edged in red on that plan and appear therefore to have been excluded from the registration. We will need this to be resolved by a deed of rectification of the 2013 transfer and an application to the Land Registry to amend the title plan to include the parking spaces. Please confirm.Does it sound like I’ll own the parking at the end of this?DIP 09/02/21

Has your solicitor checked to see if the parking space appears on a different plan to the rest of the property?
You can do this now on the LR website if you want.0

Also back to the number thing. All the cars in the other spots numbered relate to the same numbered house.DIP 09/02/21

Thank you for the help much appreciated. I bought the plan. Parking is in the groove by the arrow. The red is the developer. The road is council owned. No service charge etc. Does that mean the parking space is owned by the developer? What implications could this have? Slithery said:Yes. You do a map search... Slithery said:Yes.
