How much should I wait for Final Bill ? Stop my direct debit ?
Hello world.
I have a question about my final bill.
I moved out of UK on the 9th of Feb, so I have sent a request for a final bill on the 9th including a picture of the meter.
My electricity supplier is Symbio energy.
This is the current history of the requested bill :
Now they fill take £75 on direct debit for may be estimated usage between 1st and 28th February. Should I stop the direct debit on my side or let them take the money and hope for return and final bill in the future ?
Regards

Final bill can take I believe up to 8 weeks. All direct debits payments (unless you're on "pay on receipt of a bill") are into a kitty, so if your bill is generated and you have, say, £100 credit and the final bill was £25 for argument's sake, you would get the balance of £75 back.0

Id avoid cancelling your direct debit if possible. But symbio are known for dragging their heels on producing final bills and returning credit owed. Keep at them, call and email. If it takes longer than 8 weeks go to the ombudsman, to speed things up.0

They are allowed 6 weeks, so you are not at that point yet-barely half way.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
