Criminal Injuries Compensation (CICA) - use help?

Should I use a solicitor firm to get this, or do it myself?
They ask for 35-50% commission, but would they be able to get more?
They know what they are doing, and perhaps they know how to ask for the best amount.

thanks

That really isn't a Welfare Benefits question so not sure this is the best forum to get advice on.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Unsurprisingly, a Google search brings up lots of ads - companies who pay Google to be at the top of a search list - before the gov.uk website.

I'd look at a few of these ambulance chaser companies and then read the gov.uk website and see if they really do provide a value-added service or if they are just taking part of the compensation due for minimal 3rd party involvement.

I have a complicated case, and have spoken to one firm who really seem to know what they are doing, but perhaps I'll try mysef. I'm not sure if I can apply again if rejected.

If you think they will add value where you can't and are worth the fee they'll charge, then...

Have you read everything that Gov.uk says about CIC?
    Starting here:

Among other things, it says that the application itself should take no longer than 20 minutes.
