What cost difference does a non fault claim make?

I had an at fault accident, no 3rd party involved (slid into a bollard in the snow
). Just over £2000 damage. Next renewal was slightly more expensive as they usually are, did usual comparison and got cheaper, also no difference to the policy I'm a named driver on.Seems there's no simple answer.0 -
I’m with LV, maybe not for much longer if they try this stunt.daveyjp said:The insurance market is so competitive if there's a silly increase from your present insurer due to a no fault claim play the market and go to another.
LV did this to me a few years ago. I was paying about £300. Had a claim, other party 100% liable and they paid up, despite this my renewal was almost £500. Moved elsewhere and paid about £300.0 -
It will go up, but you can add the extra cost to your claim against the third party.0

No you can't.[DELETED USER] said:It will go up, but you can add the extra cost to your claim against the third party.0 -
Just to round this off. Comparison site gave LV at a lower cost than last year and the renewal notice came through at the same figure which hasn’t always happened.
I sent a quote done over WhatsApp to the other insurer, and then wanted something more official, but I couldn’t be bothered and told them I would go through my own insurers if they didn’t pay the claim based on the quote. They just phoned to confirm they will payout and transfer the money to my account.
Just goes to show that you are in the driving seat when claiming off the other insurer when fault is accepted as they don’t want costs inflated by an accident management firm.

My insurance went from £9pm to £12pm on a no fault claim my wife had 4yrs and 51wks before I renewed my policy. I had inadvertently stated she hadn't had a accident in 5 yrs when applying"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

With an annual premium that's barely over a hundred quid, why on earth do you need to take out credit to pay monthly?dipsomaniac said:My insurance went from £9pm to £12pm0 -
Why on earth do you need to be so arrogant?"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

40% overdraft rate or 19% insurance premium credit. What on earth would you do?"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0
