Childcare vouchers

Hi, I have accumulated vouchers and credit over the years and carefully mapped out my planned spending but have had a year of being unable to spend them. My children are getting older and I am concerned that I will be left with credit. I have contacted my NHS employer who does not give refunds. Does anyone know if there has been any discussion with regard to Covid and lost chances to spend them? I would imagine that there are other parents out there who haven't been able to spend their vouchers as planned?

Not as far as I'm aware, but you can spend them on things other than childcare, I believe.
  • Do you know what other things they can be spent on? I am trying to research music lessons etc
  • We had used up the money accumulated from lockdown last march. This time we have some money in the pot to use but my child will be using the childcare for the next 2years. We top up the difference from our bank account so hopefully it will be much less for us to pay out from the bank as we will use up the childcare vouchers money first. I did not think they can be used on anything else.

They can be used on PGL holidays which go up to 17 years old, and many holiday clubs also take them. I don't know if that's possible for this year, but something to consider for future years.

They can be used for music lessons if the provider of the lessons os registered with Ofsted
