New or refurbished the same?

What's the position with replacement faulty products within 30 days from purchase? Is the supplier allowed to replace the faulty product with a refurbished equivalent instead of a brand new one?

Within 30 days you can ask for a refund

After that repair or replacement , the replacement doesn't have to be new

  • @Browntoa - thank you.  When a £400 camera fails within the first month, getting a refurb replacement doesn't feel right... However, I'll request a refund and purchase again.  The company would have been cheaper issuing a new one though?

Although you could argue that a refurb has been fully checked over to ensure it's working correctly.
  • @chrisw whilst that's true, I'd prefer a brand new camera that hasn't any previous wear

If it failed within first month, I would be considering a different camera
