Court Bundle and WS, evidence to claimant

I am currently at WS stage of a CCBC claim from CEL, and have submited AOS and defence, DQ and have now received a telephone hearing with associated deadlines for .pdf bundle, WS and evidence file and have a few questions.

In the notice of allocation order, it says to send to the court and to the claimant all documents intended to be used in court. I understand this can be done by e-mail (as provided on the notice of allocation form) but does that mean I can also send the claimants copy by e-mail as well or does that have to be in printed format?

CEL don't publicly advertise their e-mail address although have found some for them via searching this forum. Is it acceptable to use those e-mails to send the bundles and to liase for the trial bundle, or should I send physical copies so they cant claim they weren't served in good time?

OK, so ideally you will have access to a pdf editor.  If you do, you can produce a very pretty, slick, bundle with electronic bookmarks and with all documents in the index hyperlinked.

If you don't have a pdf editor (and most won't) the sensible minimum requirements are to merge the documents, so as to create a single pdf containing:

    1. Cover sheet with names of parties and case number
    2. Index
    3. Claim Form and Particulars
    4. Defence
    5. Claimant WS
    6. Defendant WS
    7. Relevant correspondence
    8. Relevant cases

There may of course be other documents you need to add or subtract.  The key is PAGINATION. Every page to include cover sheets *must* be paginated. You should number all pages, to include the cover sheet and index.

The idea is that the number of pages in the pdf file exactly mirrors the page number you add to each page. That makes it much easier to work with. It means that when you say "I'm on page 100" it's possible for all attendees to type that number into the search function and everyone's literally on the same page.

Many directions provide for each party to file a bundle. If yours is good, it'll be all the judge will ever need.

Others may be able to tell you the best CEL email to use, but you should contact them to check receipt. Technically speaking they're not required to accept email service, but in practice they almost certainly will in the current climate.

Previously used by posters here - the first two are probably most suitable for submission of court bundles.

Please keep everything now on your original thread - one case, one thread - don't start new ones every time you have a question, otherwise there is no context against which to frame replies, and there's a danger you could actually receive incorrect advice.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
