Sorry if this is already being discussed elsewhere on the forum. Possibly something to actually look out for, provided their website can handle it.

Given it's going to be a long term investment product. There'll be no need for individuals to stampede and be first in the queue.1

A lot of people have lost trust in NS&I, due to being stabbed in the back on Income Bonds and generally poor service1

What's the rate going to be I wonder...1% for 5 years!?! 😉
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -
'Stabbed in the back' is rather melodramatic but NS&I expected (and wanted) to reduce deposit volumes, and reduced rates accordingly, although went a bit far and hit customer service issues given the scale and timing of the withdrawals. They'd recognised that they'd attracted too many customers by virtue of inadvertently offering market-leading rates (as everyone else went backwards), and of course when they were starting with 25m+ customers, even a tiny vocal minority can still represent a substantial number in absolute terms, so 'a lot of people' losing trust isn't necessarily significant.Eye2021 said:A lot of people have lost trust in NS&I, due to being stabbed in the back on Income Bonds and generally poor service

I prefer the FT piece on those green bond plans as it seems more informative. Doesn't appear to be something anyone can invest in next week or the week after, so no need to queue yet

I have a couple of NS&I bonds maturing later in the year so could be an option.0
