Tyres can lose tread if the discs are allowed to go rusty and the driver gets rid of the rust by doing loads of emergency stops.0

Two things can happen if you leave the car standing:
- the tyres can lose pressure, so check them when you go out in it again,
- they can develop a flat spot if the car just sits in the same place for months.
As mentioned, the brake disks may become rusty, but that should be easy to clear within a mile of driving.0 -
...has anybody ever noticed that when tyres do go flat it is always at the bottom??

Stubod said:...the car is probably bored during lockdown so it is choosing to pop out overnight when no one is looking?..in all seriousness, it is a known fact that due to there chemical composition cheaper tyres can lose tread via "evaporation" if they are left standing for a significant period of time, (although this is mainly during the hotter Summer months). To prevent this they recommend wrapping them in old towels if you are not using them for a month or two..
Everyone knows you should wrap them in plastic or bubble wrap. Old towels are absorbent and will draw out the liquid latex from the interstices of solid rubber in the thread.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".1 -
