How do I upload a defence file for comment? I have tried the attach file button as a PDF and word document and all I get is format not allowed.

You don't have enough posts, you need to host it and put a broken (hxxp) link to it.

Hello @Not_A_Hope. Welcome.
Do you have a County Court Claim Form?
If so, what is the Issue Date on it?3 -
Copy and paste it, you've only got two paragraphs to show. We don't want to see any other paras unless you've (inadvisedly) altered the other standard template ones. If you have, show the relevant ones and tell us how and why you've changed them. But you'll need to give some background otherwise we have no idea what on earth you are trying to defend. I presume it's related to private parking? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Sorry does that mean Newbies have to cut and paste the whole document into the thread for comment? Hosting it and putting a broken hxxp link means absolutely nothing to me0

Yes I have a County Court Claim dated 18th Feb in relation to private parking. In total including the standard template paras the document runs to 9 pages which is why I was trying to send as a pdf similar to that posted by robertcox999 recently.
Paras 3 - 9 explain in detail what happened from incident to County Court claim. Paras 10 - 17 are based on abuse of process issues used in robertcox999 defence statement and 18- 29 and 32-34 are the standard template0 -
If you are the defence stage of a claim, use the ready written defence template in the sticky threads, amend paragraphs 2 and 3 to suit your case then post just those two paragraphs here for the regulars to check.
However, we have no background.
Who is the PPC?
Where did this occur?
What was the reason for issuing the PCN?
Did you appeal the PCN?
Has the driver been identified?
Have you received a claim form? If so, what is the issue date?
Have you completed the AoS? If so, on what date did you submit it?
What happened when you complained to the landowner?

Not_A_Hope said:Yes I have a County Court Claim dated 18th Feb in relation to private parking. With a Claim Issue Date of 18th February, you have until Tuesday 9th March to file an Acknowledgment of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an AoS, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an AoS, you have until 4pm on Tuesday 23rd March 2021 Monday 22nd March 2021 to file your Defence. That's over three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service instructions.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.3

But ideally just post the paragraphs you have changed , paragraphs 2 and 3 , like everyone else1 -
Fruitcake - the PPC is HX Parking / Gladstones and the incident happened at Damside St car park in Lancaster. The claim was acknowledged on the 20/02/21 via MCOL. The rest of the details are in the Defence Statement. The advice suggested adding paragraphs beyond 2-3.
KeithP - I have drafted a Defence Statement already based on the advice on this forum for Newbies. I just wanted to find an easy way of uploading for comment from the Forum.
If there isn't a simple way to attach a file I will cut and paste everything tomorrow
Cheers0 -
Yes, just copy and paste the bits you added, into a reply. Not the whole defence please, not the template stuff that's unchanged.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
