Savings account

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and wandered if anyone has any information on which savings accounts are best. I want to be able to get money out if I need to and the amount I save each month will vary. I am with Natwest with a current account. Thanks 😊

I am sure that NatWest will offer some savings accounts. It's best to stick to banks that you know. There will be obscure banks that you have never heard of who will offer a tiny bit more interest but you are not going to get much interest wherever you go.

This is quite possibly the most unhelpful piece of advice I’ve yet seen on a money saving forum.
Yes - High st banks are usually the last place to look for savings accounts . These smaller/obscure  banks are all covered by £85K FCSC cover same as the big banks.
As long as they are listed in a reputable comparison table like the ones suggested above, then there is no issue.

What rock have you been living under? Have you ever been with HSBC?

Interestingly they offer, with RBS one of the highest rates albeit at only £50 per month. So don't knock it.

The thing is the above poster just plucked a bank and advised op to stick to high street banks, not mentioning what Natwest offers and just 'will offer some savings accounts',  ignoring other providers

Definitely worth having, they are lovely little accounts. They are not necessarily a reason, though, for keeping all your savings with Natwest/RBS.

Natwest also do a gimmicky prize draw for new (but not for existing 🤬) Digital Saver customers

    Same at RBS

Nothing to say you can’t close and reopen the accounts as far as I can see?
