Anyone know how to claim Support for Mortgage Interest or Green Homes Window Grant?

As the title says..
According to my many hours of research, it looks like:

-You qualify for the "green homes" grant for replacement windows if you have SMI (support for mortgage interest)
-You qualify for SMI (Support for mortgage interest) if you qualify for income support
-You only qualify for Income support if you don't have a mortgage or own a home (in which case you wouldn't need a grant for windows or SMI in the first place.)

It seems like a tidy little support system ... !
Did I miss anything?

If the above info is incorrect or anyone can offer any links or info on how to claim / who qualifies, that would be appreciated. Thanks

It's no longer possible to claim Income Support because all the old legacy benefits have been replaced by Universal Credit. To qualify for SMI while claiming UC you have to have 9 consecutive months will zero earnings. All this was advised on your other thread here.
