March Budget ‘21 Premium Bond Limit increase

A much more modest increase in the holding limit to say £60,000 is entirely possible within the next few years though! I don't expect this to happen in this Wednesday's budget of course but the completely unexpected 'rabbit out of the hat' considering present economic circumstances has been known to take place before. E.g. George Osbourne's very generous in interest rate terms 65+ Bonds being released through NS&I shortly before the 2015 general election took many people by surprise and clearly helped the Tories gain a majority at that election!talexuser said:Next time give a thread a sensible title of what it really is, so we can ignore it as an idea that will never happen in this budget, and has nothing to do it.0 -
Isn't 50k enough to be languishing away at 1% already...?2

You're advocating £250k in cash. Why would you need that much? Don't get me wrong, it's great that you have so much saved. I just don't get this obsession with huge long-term cash holdings.
Ps I know you can't get better than 1%.1 -
It was only OP who suggested £250K after lobbing in a clickbait thread title and then disappearing over the horizon....TheAble said:You're advocating £250k in cash. Why would you need that much? Well in that case start a thread titled "Maybe an increase in Premium Bond limit might happen in the next few years but we don't know when, and no newspaper (presumably leaked with insider info) has floated the idea at all so far."cricidmuslibale said:A much more modest increase in the holding limit to say £60,000 is entirely possible within the next few years though! Just for the record, I'm not the OP so why don't you address the above suggestion to them?talexuser said:
