Good morning everyone
Happy Birthday Gers, hope you have a wonderful day and get spoilt rotten xx
Oh Maddie, what fantastic news about your dear dog. Hope she goes from strength to strength, I can't dance either but I am waving my arms for you xx
I have had a wash and got changed so I am now waiting for the nurse to come this morning. I personally think I need more antibiotics judging by the soreness and redness of my leg but I will wait to see what she says. I had my first vaccination yesterday and I am very pleased to report that I have no side effects at all, not even a sore arm so that is good.
Everyone wants a take away for dinner tonight so I think we will probably order a chinese as there are more things that I feel comfortable eating from there. Lee has an online class this morning where he will be taking over our kitchen and making stilton and apple scones. I am sure they will be delicious. He is very very nervous about going back to college next month but I think he will be alright once he gets back into the swing of it. It will certainly do him good to get out of the house for a bit as apart from the odd walk with the dogs, he has stayed in his room for most of the lockdowns.
Well, it's my cousin's funeral today. I will be thinking of him and the rest of my family. My sister has gone to Wales but will be keeping our nanny company as she is 94 and couldn't cope with going to his funeral. My sister has decided not to tell that side of the family about her cancer for now as they have had enough grief to deal with and of course we will respect her wishes.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx14 -
Happy Birthday GERS , I hope you have a lovely day!
Madden, great news about your dog.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back11 -
Morning, hugs if you need one, and Happy Birthday Gers, I hope you have a nice day.
Sunny but cold this morning, I have to take DB to get his ears syringed, Hopefully I will not have to shout every time I want to say anything.
Email from the company who are delivering our new bed, mid morning tomorrow, so need to get sorted, we will have to get up early and strip the bed, I will stick it in the washer and maybe get it dry on the line.
My new tablet is playing up, it keeps rebooting, will try a factory reset, if that does not work its going back. Grrrrrr.
One side border sewn and pinned on, I am just not going to get it done in 10 days, so will have to send an IOU to Niblet, his Nanny will have to explain to him what an IOU is, do not envy her doing that!!! I am hoping to get the other long border done today. A friend in the US has come up with a novel, quick way to quilt it, sew over the seams instead of stitching in the ditch, using one of the fancy 'wavy' stitches built into the machine..... hmmmmm will be giving that a try.
Fish and chips for supper tonight, might make a rice pudding for dessert.9 -
Morning all! Beautifully sunny day although temperatures are supposed to be zero tonight. On my second cup of tea and this morning I am pushing out the boat and making bacon sarnies for breakfast. I have to use up the cooking bacon. OH has requested a chippy tea so that's supper sorted and I'll rummage in the freezer for something for tomorrow night. Possibly meatballs of some sort. I have never made a meatball spag bog so having heard the delights of Nelski's cheesy garlic pizza, we may have one of those with it...And the rhubarb is sprouting and this year I can pick it all because it's in it's third year, so hello freezer fodder and rhubarb and custard cake. Note to self - must excercise more in advanceThe cats activity wotsit should be arriving today so we may be rearranging everything downstairs for it. This is good, means I can see if anything else can be added to the list of declutter. I already have a carrier bag of broken stainless steel things [ ricer, mouli, grater - went through a spate of things deciding to go !!!!!!] so I'm sure I can add more items for a trip to the tip possibly next week. OK, booked for next Friday. I have some more paperwork to sort through today, my personal file of stuff is overflowing so I'm sure there's something that can go in the fire starting paper bag there.Gers, have a super fab day, shame you have to make your own birthday cake but maybe next year....Enjoy your new toys! Camelot, isn't it supposed to be the other way around?
Happy jab day AOD! Hope you're feeling better nan...And glad you got some support Ruby, it all helps
So have a super Saturday and congratulate yourselves for getitng this far moderately sanely...

Gers - Happy Birthday. What sort of hand mixer did you get? I chose my present one by colour - pink as my kitchen walls are ballerina pink. Decorator turned his nose up when he saw the paint tin but agreed it looks good. He was the same about me wanting grey grouting to finish the cream metro tiles.
Maddiemay - great doggie news.
Finished 10 coin purses yesterday for SA fund raising. Have a bunny pattern ready to attempt.
Had to make an optician and dentist's appointment today - joys of age.
Lost internet to my computer last night - Mr F had it on his one. He insisted that the problem was downstairs- moved lots of stuff about - my computer is down in my craft room. I suggested turning the upstairs router - off & on - eventually he did - guess what - success. Men!

Afternoon all - many thanks for all the lovely wishes for my day.
So far it's been busy so I've just been able to sit down and enjoy the rest of my day.
There's been cards to open, boxes to open, my new laptop to collect, coffee to drink in a friend's garden (freezing cold), DM's lunch to make and two sets of delivered flowers to arrange. Presents have all been in the range of chocolates, flowers and booze! No complaints here.TA - one of my cards says 'Sparkle on your birthday' - made me smile and think of your Sparkle. It's good to read the mostly good news here, Maddie's beloved dog being OK, Taff's cat getting a new toy and Dumpling's vaccination amongst others. Now I've got my new laptop to sort out, that'll keep me happily busy until tea-time.11 -
