Project Bedroom - now renamed Project 'Complete Upstairs Renovation' !Another boot-full of 'stuff' to the charity shop Mr C has started on the cupboard of doom, reduced three boxes of wires down to one, and found an electronics recycling facility that supports a local homelessness charity that we can make a large donation to.This afternoon I'm going to paint the back wall of the garage and we have a shelving unit to go up over the weekend, which means better acces to diy equipment, and we can move out a table and chest-of-drawers that have been there since we moved in (7 Years) - nice up-cycling projects for some one.

well done for coming under the £10/day interest - now I think you will really see the needle moving ...DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

This year OPs have made a real difference, We started the year at over £128k outstanding and mandatory monthly payments were £764, they are now £694 if I ever wanted to stop overpaying. I think I would be terrified to calculate the daily interest on a larger mortgage like the one you're planning.
@SandyShores I hope yours was a pleasant surprise2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8565 -
