I'm hoping someone here can give me some advice. I have received a letter today from Global Debt Recovery which looks to be like an MBNA credit card debt. The thing is, this debt is at least 10 years old, maybe even 20, i can't be sure.
Do I have to pay this? What can I do to stop them sending me letters?

You can send them a prove-it letter as a first step. There's a template on the debt free wannabe board, which I'll link to

If it proves to be what you thought and you haven't paid/acknowledged in writing for 6 years then it's statute barred and there's a letter for that0 -
It won't go away, but send a prove-it letter as suggested. You should then be able to find out if it is valid and take it from there.0
