I'm on UC now,
can I ask how I get free prescriptions (also, dental treatment and eye checks)?
do I have to get a letter from UC, or do I just tick a box on the prescriptions?

There's no letter as proof. If you qualify for the free prescriptions then you just tick the relevant box but you need to make sure it's UC you tick and not anything else.

Your statement will tell you if you are entitled to free prescriptions. Click on the other support available link at the bottom of it. You have to earnings below a set amount to qualify.

Should be box U for prescriptions but if your pharmacy (or dentist) are still using old forms, ask them for confirmation which one. Mine told me to tick box K, income-based JSA then write 'Universal Credit' next to it.poppy12345 said:There's no letter as proof.
