Unusual I know but I have to commend Amazon over a recent purchase. We made the mistake of asking the oldest what he wanted for his birthday which is tomorrow. Mistake for two reasons. We asked last Saturday only giving ourselves 6 days if it was something we could give and two he came up with something I could not find in the UK.
It was a Peanuts watch from Timex. As someone who has collected cartoon watches over years I can only agree with his choice. I searched online for it. Its been sold out since November 2020. It was only introduced to the market in September. 2020. Others in the series available but the Charlie Brown version was OOS.
There was one available for Amazon.com in the states. I pondered a day and decided on Sunday to place the order. I prepaid the VAT but still have thoughts there would be a charge somewhere down the line from UPS. It was posted Monday and arrived at his house yesterday. Two days from the states to UK delivery is for me a fantastic service and no extra charges.
At the end of the day I paid less for it to be delivered from the states that the retail price in the UK and certainly cheaper that the only ones I saw on ebay who were trying to ask roughly double for it.

People rarely give praise - it's mostly rant rant rant

I absolutely love Amazon, they are really convenient, especially during the current times. I get an abundance of deliveries from them as well as the supermarket when I get groceries. Amazon's customer service is on the ball too, they usually get back to you straight away, within hours!1

It was delivered by drone not by human as we are in a remote part of Scotland. I tried to thank the drone pilot but I don't think she heard.

Wow. If your window cleaner robbed all your neighbours houses, robbed your house, robbed the government's central bank and then did a great job washing your windows, would you come on here to give praise? Amazon are crooks and those that use them for their own personal gain and themselves complicit in robbing the coffers of our nation. Shame on you all.dinglebert said:Unusual I know but I have to commend Amazon over a recent purchase. We made the mistake of asking the oldest what he wanted for his birthday which is tomorrow. Great comparison, not a single hole in your argument.HouseTargaryen said:

It appears the OP couldn't find it available in England/UK, so he sourced from abroad. I'm sure you deal with some morally corrupt/ethically iffy companies too.HouseTargaryen said:
