Making my house into a Masonette

I would like some advice as I have already split my house into 2 which I jointly own Tenants in common with a non relative . I have had planning permission with the local council and have had to put stud wall with sound insulation and also floor insulation, fire doors, new regulated fire alarms, but I am now told I need secondary glazing which will take my budget well over. Firstly is this needed and secondly will the whole house including my downstairs neighbour need it done as I need the certificate if I sell my flat/masonette .

It will be needed. Your new properties will need to meet building regulations for new properties! You'll need a 10 year warranty as well as the building control approval certificate for the properties to be mortgageable.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Yes dbowie, when you make such ch-ch-ch-changes these will need to comply with building control.4

That was exactly what I was thinking! Reminded me instantly of someone I used to work with. She was a masonette.0
