Solicitor is absolutely useless

I plan on complaining but what are the chances I would get some money back? Happy to take this all the way to legal ombudsman. The final icing on the cake was a completion statement (which I had to chase 3 times and was sent to me one day before completion so barely gave me any time to transfer the money) had an incorrect amount on it and various other errors.
I cannot believe that solicitors can be so incompetent and charge so much for the service!

Hopefully you've got substantive grounds for complaint. Constantly calling isn't going to help anyone as simply consumes valuable time. That needs to be paid for. The solicitor will a log of all interactions and the actual amount of time spent. .0

It would help if you gave us some clues about the problems. It is pretty normal (and unavoidable) for completion statements not to be finalised under shortly before completion.0

tsolrm said:Right so what happens if I pay the wrong amount before completion because I got sent an incorrect statement? Does the completion still happen? Or does it get delayed because the vendor is missing money? What do you mean by 'finalised'?
If you are selling the mortgage redemption statement will change from day to day, to give just one example.0 -
There are a lot of "complaint about my solicitor" threads on this board. Poor solicitors! I've not seen anybody come back post-complaint and recompense with a detailed outcome.

You are prepared to take this all the way to the Legal Ombudsman because it took your solicitor 6 weeks to answer 4 questions? If you are on a fixed fee then they won't be charging per question.1
