Going off past experience with gold, did seem strange compared with many pieces of old jewellery that have been stored over years with no tarnishing.

I think maybe also I’ll stick to high street from now on, although bit tricky at moment!

I'd look at independent jewellers rather than the high street chains.

Curious which 'large, online jeweller' you originally bought the earrings from.
