New boiler ongoing costs
I'm planning on getting a new boiler but have some questions about ongoing costs.
I've always had properties with older boilers and sometimes had British Gas homecare cover. Is this cover necessary for new boilers? Or do the warranties cover all repairs? I think the rest of my central heating system is reliable, it's just the boiler that needs replaced.
If you've had a new boiler, would you recommend getting boiler cover or not?
Also, if I sell my property, is the boiler warranty transferable?

To put your question into a real World context. I moved into a new build home 3 years ago with a Worcester Bosch system boiler. Sadly, it hasn’t proved to be the greatest piece of engineering. Rather than trust a local engineer, I have paid slightly more to have the boiler serviced by Worcester Bosch. On both services, the engineer has checked the boiler against design parameters using a laptop. I have had a number of components changed including the heat exchanger and the main fan. All repairs have been carried out under warranty.1

Dont forget that although you should not need and extra boiler warranty, all manufacturer's warranties will insist that you have the boiler serviced annually to maintain it.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1
