Motion Sprinkler to deter cats

I love gardening and have not been able to go in the garden without getting upset by cats fouling the lawns. I have done everything possible to deter them with no luck. They poo on top of the prickly branches and everywhere on top of the plants and lately the driveway.  My neighbour does not have this problem as they park their car on the drive whereas ours is in the garage. As a last resort I am thinking of buying a motion sprinkler but not sure how to use. Anybody had success using one of those? In the past I have bought so many ultrasonic gadgets. So fed up and with lockdown and weather improving I cannot enjoy my garden. Everyday I need to go and scope their mess. Any tips much appreciated.

I've had a similar problem. I've planted the border fully and put stone where there are gaps. That worked but the lawn still attracts. I have to park my car on a slope in summer so my neighbours cats don't climb over it. I've had the whole top scratched in the past at a different property.
I put a physical barrier around the fence at the side and back.
I have got a water pistol that I used to aim at them and the visiting cats took that as a sign not to come but neighbours cats are determined.
It's a territory thing. They are staking their claim to that land as theirs.
I had thought of one of those. Having one that covered the driveway and your garden would be quite a range. Wouldn't that spout at you or the postman? But it's possible that just the sudden jet of water from no where would be sufficient to make them insecure enough not to squat there. I'd have thought that would be a good idea.
