marshall ward - wii play - never ever buy of them again!!!

Never ever buy anything from them...

My story:
Ordered wii play from them on 23 nov. they send me confirmation with the exact date of delivery which is 2 weeks as they stated on the website. Today a received a letter saying that there is a small delay in my order supposed to be with me on 11.04.08 !!!!!!!! how good is that? bear in mind today was exactly the date of delivery they stated in my confirmation. Anyway no wii play , they took money, and strange thing is i ordered on 23rd and letter has being printed 26 nov and o got it today (7th dec - delivery date) so simple: they knew they aint got it, fooled people, took money... worst worst case i have ever come across... never being done that bad... cant leave it like this any ideas?

You'll get used to this when buying games off Tesco Jersey. Very mad with them too!
One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.

dont know why you're so angry to be honest. same happened to me. they apologised and arranged a refund. we all know there are shortages.... i dont see the problem.

  • Had same bother with Tesco online, waited weeks and weeks for a game which my son had saved up for, to be then told that the reason I had not got it was because there was a delay on the release!! Cancelled the order (in a bit of a strop) and got it from my local woolies for about the same price!

If you read their T&C's, they dont guarantee the delivery of the item and the date is only approx.
With regards to what can you do? cancel it and buy it from somewhere else.

write to head office and complain, of course you realised anything could happen with a national shoertage, but theyll take days to get your refund and in that time you would probably miss out on a real deal on play, express how let down you have been and they need to state clearly if items are out of stock, and a delivery in april is not on.
good luck and i really hope you get a wii play in time for xmas.

Play have this problem every year - on loads of different products. I just wish they could get their stock control system right. I wouldn't mind them telling me straight away that they have sold too many but months later when you've passed on opportunities to get whatever elsewhere. Very annoying.

Alas - nothing you can do!

I don't know why you are so surprised - this is what catalogue companies do to get new business in. They offer items which no-one else has and clean up.
Then once they have a few thousand new customers they shaft them with the - delayed stock - email.
You get annoyed but their Marketing Director gets her Xmas bonus for adding thousands of new customers.
You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.
