Hot Tub Warranty

Hi All
I very rarely post anything on any sites and just generally crack on with things but this has got my back up a bit and im looking for some advice.
I bought a Hot Tub from a local company in July last year and it has developed a very minor fault but a fault non the less. I have called the company and they have said that my warranty is a parts only warranty and I would need to pay for the labour. I explained that it was only 7 months old but it apparently that doesn't matter. I can't believe that I wouldn't be covered for anything mechanical or electrical within the first year. I have since read the contract and it does state in there about it being parts only but I am a bit shocked that this is the case.
Any advice god be greatly appreciated

  • They can put any terms they want in a warranty. Why not exercise your consumer rights?
  • So that's what I wanted to do but im not sure if that is the correct procedure for me to pay the labour and they cover the cost of the material, is there a section on the consumer right act where it clearly states they are not allowed to do this?

    For your statutory rights, there's no expectation that you need to pay for labour (or materials) - it's up to the retailer to get it fixed (or replaced, or refunded). Though after this length of time the onus is on you to prove that it's an inherent defect.
