I'm wanting to put an offer in on a property soon, along with my mum(buying half each), I'm a first time buyer and i'm not sure how to pick a conveyancing solicitor, what should I be looking for?

Probably a quick google search of your local solicitors. Find the ones with good reviews and match up to a quote to find reasonable.DIP 09/02/21

On the mortgage lenders panel. Recommendations from friends and work colleagues. Being local is handy.
Choose several and ask for fee estimates.1 -
Include as much information relating to your purchase as you can. The standard fee may not allow for the solicitor dealing with gifted deposits, leaseholds etc. When I got the paper work from mine there was a long list of additional fees. The standard fee will be based on the purchase price of the property so just include an estimate of what you expect to pay and then you can clarify it when an offer has been expected. Ask if the cost of searches have been included in the quote.1

Is your mum a homeowner? Im not sure how that works with stamp duty if she owns a residential property already.1

Have you got a mortgage in principal yet? I would start with that, maybe through a broker0
