Exchange/Completion, what happens on the day?

Hi all, excuse my naievity FTB no chain either side, buying an empty property, scheduled to exchange Friday, complete on monday subject to LISA funds being released.
This is obviously feeling like the longest week of my life, I cant sleep, everyday is dragging, kinda wish I didnt know the date it was happening lol! So what actually happens on exchange day? I got my money to my solicitor yesterday after a massive hoo haa of the bank freezing all my accounts when I went to transfer it and then getting an interrogation on the phone about what i was doing (I appreciate it's to keep my money safe, completely understand and appreciate its importance, was just a faff getting it released). I'm doing my final pre exchange inspection thursday, would have been sooner but the dates were only sprung on me yesterday! Will that be everything now done from my side and a case of sitting and waiting? Completion day, what happens then?

Your solicitor will call you and ask for authority to exchange and then confirm contracts have been exchanged. Completion day your solicitor will call to say the sale is completed and you will either get the keys from the EA or go and meet the EA and then its a case of moving in. That is on the prevision that there is no hiccups but with no chain either side there shouldn't be any.1

Don't forget to take meters readings once you get in the property and set up all the accounts - energy, water, council, broadband.0

Take photos of the meter readings if you can, just in case there is a dispute later on.
