Good morning everyone.
So my husband works full time and has a m on the end of his tax code which means marriage tax allowance. I applied for that around 5 years ago. Anyway I dont pay tax as I only work 8 hours a week so how does that work because my understanding is I should pay less tax which comes off his tax allowance? Anyway because I dont pay tax are we owed money or anything. Thank you all.

You have transferred 10% of your personal tax allowance to him. Currently you each can earn £12,500 before paying tax. As you have transferred 10% of your allowance to him, you now have a reduced allowance of £11,250 and he has an increased allowance of £13730.You do not pay tax so you will see no effect in your pay packet, as long as your earnings remain below your revised £11,250 personal allowance. Your husband will see the benefit by paying £250/year less tax due to the increase in his personal allowance.
