missed payments still showing on credit file

I’ve been with stepchange for 14 months now with another 12 months to be completely debt free. I’ve not missed any payments paying my monthly payment each month and always actively checking my balances
However when checking my credit file ( EXPERIAN) the balances  are correctly reducing each month but since I’ve been on the plan missed payments have shown each month making it look like I’m not making my payments
Can anyone please explain this and give anymore advice as to why this is and possibly ways to contest it
Thanks

  • If you're not making contractual payments, it's correct that they show as missed/late/defaulted.
  • If you were meant to pay say £100 a month and instead pay £25, that's a missed payment. The reporting is correct and won't be changed - indeed, it should not be changed as it shows other lenders your accurate factual history.
