Take off old render then rerender

Hi
I need to find out if the quote I have been given is extremely expensive.
I need the render taken off my semi detached house then want it rerended and painted been quoted £39,000?

That is a "taking the pee" even for the London based extortionists.. I would expect £10-14K tops, but only if they were fitting external wall insulation as well (if this job covers more than 25% of the building, then building regs apply, and insulation would usually be a requirement).

If they are just chipping off the outer layer and applying a thin coat, £4-7K would be closer to the mark, but nearly £40K, you could buy a whole house for that !

Tell them to do one. I had similar done with 2/3 of the house plus 750mm insulation in 2019 and it was just over £12k.

wow crazy money,,,,,, is it a 23 bedroom semi ? 
WHY GET SAND AND CEMENT RENDER at all. Painting render every few years is not required these days. Through colour systems offer so many shades of fixed colour. 1 st question should be DOES IT NEED REMOVING ?
