The OP was asking a question. They deserve an answer and not repeated derision and mockery.

Doesn't anyone believe that they deserve even a modicum of respect?
Why move the goalposts? The OP has been answered repeatedly (and factually) that the scoring system is a gimmick and that they shouldn't worry about it, nor focus on getting it to go up to get credit (as it isn't used to determine that). The problem is well meaning people jumping in and giving misleading information that the score is somehow important and confusing matters.
I am genuinely interested in this discussion and am not wishing to be contentious, but I do have a question on your post.

Are you able to advise which post(s) on this thread were giving misleading information that the score is somehow important?

the op has been given the truth nothing more nothing less.
The OP (me) is aware of how credit reports are used. I am just interested in what mine is as one way or another improving it is likely to be a way of managing my credit better. I like having targets as it keeps me motivated, I don't need all the rubbish and belittling. I asked a simple question and didn't expect it to descend into this snipe fest.

Maybe the OP likes gimmicks! I'm not sure if you are aware of gamification? It is used in so many things now. For me I am treating my credit scores as a game as it will help me display better habits. So, maybe it is a gimmick to you but that does not mean it has no merit to others.

My question was not answered, I felt like I was being treated like an idiot, which I am not. Just to be clear, that was you who made a fellow human feel bad without knowing enough about the reasons for their question, I assume because it makes you feel superior. If that is the case then at least I have improved someone's day.
  • Also, does anyone think that the reason for many single post wonders on here could be related to the toxic atmosphere created by many of the posters who reply?

To be fair, @chrichi did provide a link with a list of the different agencies, which was the question on your first post.
  • Fair point. Thanks @chrichi
  • You're welcome.
I certainly found that page helpful.
