Why not replace sealant in bathroom?

I see so many properties that come up for sale across a wide range of price bands that display horrid blackened sealant around the bath & shower tray & really discoloured grouting & don't quite understand why people don't see to these relatively minor jobs before marketing their properties? It really puts me off of even wanting to go to view the place as it gives the impression that the owner isn't bothered about maintenance & not too particular about keeping the house clean.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

It works both ways.. a buyer who was that swayed by relatively minor jobs would put me off, as it gives the impression they aren't sensible / serious & not too logical about how material different issues may be in the house buying process.4

It depends on the state of the bathroom, we are buying a house where we would be replacing the entire ensuite. The moldy sealant didn't put me off. I do get what you're saying but with that logic you would need to do a lot of little jobs around your house before marketing. If someone was to nit pik at trivial things like moldy sealant then they're probably going to try and rinse you for every little defect that comes with a house.1

Don't know if your post was prompted by the boiler thread this morning, but, yes, that was a bit of a shocker. When you look at the property on rightmove, the rest of it is clean and tidy. Think the owners had just given up on the bathroom.0
