Lost banking info

Does anyone know if/how I can trace transactions over 20 years ago? A combination of circumstances (including long term hospitalisation) means that I have lost a range of information - I have paid for an accountant to try and trace but all they did was ask me to produce more and more information I didn't have! Which is why I asked them in the first place!
My partner is convinced I have £300k stashed away somewhere, and if I do that would be wonderful, but if I do I have no idea where it is.
Can anyone advise?? That would be greatly appreciated!

You could submit a SAR to any organisations where you believe you may have had an account.
There's also this. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/reclaim-lost-assets-free/
All an accountant can do is to ask you for the same information and post the SARs themselves, which isn't great value for money.0 -
Why £300k ? Why that particular amount ? If she believes you have that sum of money, surely she would have some idea of how the figure of £300k has arisen
