Possible electric meter errors.

Switch circuits off at the consumer unit one at a time until you find the circuit that's causing the high flash rate.0

1350 units per month vs 600, the excess usage is about a kW0

ok thanks. I will try to isolate the massive power drain. Only 2 small fridges and a PC and a TV (new LED one) on at the moment.
I have asked my supplier to check the Meter for errors and see where we go from here. The fact that it is rising so fast but we are not buying anything new seems strange. I need to do something, my monthly direct debit has just been raised from £80 to £221 a month to try to cover it.0 -
I would suggest following the advice given to find out culprit.Paul989 said:ok thanks. I will try to isolate the massive power drain. Only 2 small fridges and a PC and a TV (new LED one) on at the moment.

Take a few hours and carry out advice.
Write all down, usage, flash rate by item etc
If you can do that and find the problem then you do not need to pay supplier to check meter if it is working correctly.
Any thing outside, flood lights, garage heater, pond pump/ filters.
Any pumps for waste?
Outside socket with extension to new neighbours house.😁

It would be interesting to hear what happens with the circuits being switched of/on one at a time.
If the instantaneous figure of 4.2 kW was real, that would need to be a big consumer. Also strange that it is much higher than the previous overall average figure of around a kW continuous. Perhaps the meter is going awol and it has rapidly got worse. Or the effect is intermittent0 -
