As I only purchased a basic i3 Kabey lake a year or two ago.
I know I have this laptop with Matt non Glossy screen.
Is it going to be useful to work from home with MS Teams+Zoom.
I know Vid calls via Teams, though never tried via my own laptop.
Can't remember which Model of i3 it is, 2ghz approx. 14 or 15" screen -resolution 1300 range i.e. Not 1080 Full HD. 4gb Ram 256 on board SSD.
Lenovo possibly 300xx type range.
Win10 running latest Beta.
thanks

You don't need anything super powerful for Zoom, you need a decent internet/wifi if possible.

Multi video/people on Teams is generated by the software simply pulling in video streams that go to a central server.  The amount of RAM on your computer is irrelevant to that, so your internet speed is the kink in this particular chain.

Its why people seem to "freeze" on Teams/Zoom as their wireless has dropped out/become overloaded - its almost always wifi related.  Wifi was never really intended for video calls/conferences, its prone to interference/lag/whatever else.  It works in normal circumstances, but if you have multiple people in the same house on the same wifi all doing video calls it'll often struggle like heck.

With regards to the lower resolution, Teams will just do the best it can with the hardware it has access to.  If you are unfortunate enough to have a poor quality webcam, its better than nothing.  The screen resolution doesn't matter, that's only what you see.  What the webcam sees is more important.

Thanks Teams Is fine via work i5.
My latest questions were as I could be seeking employment elsewhere.
Wasn't sure if my i3 Lenovo was going to be a concern.
